May 17, 1948 American Delegate to U.N. on Invasion by Arab Armies
Two days after the Arab States entered Palestine, Warren R. Austin, the American delegate, told the Security Council of the United Nations:
“Probably the most important evidence we have on that subject is contained in the admissions of the countries whose five armies invaded Palestine that they are carrying on a war … Here we have the highest type of evidence of the international violation of law: the admissions of those who are committing this violation.”
