1564 Don Yosef Nasi

Don Yosef Nasi and Dona Gratsia Nasi, received permission from the Ottoman Sultan to rebuild the city of Tiberias in northern Israel, which was desolated during the Mamluk occupation. They settled Jews in it and planned to establish a Jewish autonomy in Tiberias.

The Jewish community of Cori, Italy sells all of its belongings and moves to Tiberias.
