KARACHI, Pakistan, May 21 (UP)-Three thousand Moslems prayed in mosques for Palestine’s Arabs today and then mobbed the U. S. Embassy, protesting American recognition of the new Jewish state of Israel.

The government of Pakistan, which is the world’s largest Islamic nation, proclaimed the day “Palestine day,” in sympathy for fellow Moslems in the Holy Land.

Crowds assembled spontaneously and marched through the streets.

The largest mob marched from prayers at the city’s mosques to the Embassy. Leaders climbed on window ledges of the Embassy and shouted their protests against recognition of Israel inside.

American officials rigged up a loudspeaker and Ambassador Paul Alling, through an interpreter, promised to convey the Pakistani sentiment to Washington.

Despite its support of the Arabs in Palestine, Pakistan has not yet decided whether to give official aid to their cause.
