NEW YORK, March 13 (AP)—Warren R. Austin, chief United States delegate to the United Nations, reaffirmed today his delegation’s stand for a peaceful settlement in Palestine.

It was the third time this week Austin or his delegation had officially emphasized that the U. S. is seeking a peaceful way to carry out the plan of the United Nations Assembly for the partition of Palestine.

Austin referred to Palestine in a speech before young journalists from all parts of the United States attending the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. On the two previous occasions U. S. delegation spokesmen declared this country has not changed its stand for partition but is seeking a peaceful way for carrying it out.
