Proto-Ionic capital found by Kathleen Kenyon at the City of David, Oriental Institute, University of Chicago.

A proto-Ionic capital from the reign of King Solomon (c. 961–921 B.C.E.). A number of others like it were recovered from Solomonic Megiddo, where they adorned pilasters (columns attached to walls) and freestanding columns at the entrances to monumental buildings.
