June 1, 1941 Pogrom in Baghdad
A POGROM (MASSACRE OF JEWS) TOOK PLACE IN BAGHDAD AS PART OF A PRO-AXIS DEMONSTRATION IN WHICH THE MUFTI AND HIS FOLLOWERS PLAYED AN IMPORTANT PART: 110 JEWS WERE KILLED, 586 JEWISH STORES LOOTED, 911 HOUSES DESTROYED.
