Wooden Pannels from the Al-Aksa Mosque, 8th century

The panels formed part of the early Islamic architectural and decorative program of the Temple Mount, associated with the construction and embellishment of major monuments including al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. Related panels are preserved in the Islamic Museum on the Temple Mount and in the Rockefeller Museum in Jerusalem.
