General Ali Abu Nuwar of Iraq, reported by Radio Baghdad:

“This brigade occupies a precious place in the hearts of the men of the Arab Legion as its soldiers in coming days will have the honor to head the Iraq army’s campaign in Palestine.  I greatly rejoice in this force, equipped with its new weapons, supporting the soldiers standing on the border of the Holy Land.”
