TEL AVIV, Israel, May 25 (UP)-Israel’s air force has opened bombing operations against Syria with raids on the town of Fiq, about five miles beyond the Palestine frontier, and on the main highway between Lebanon and Amman, Trans-Jordan.
An unspecified number of planes scored direct hits on Fiq, an Israeli communique said.
Fiq is east of the Sea of Galilee, near the Trans-Jordan frontier.
In the same area, an Israeli victory was claimed in a fight with Syrian troops at Kfar Hario, on the Syrian side of the frontier.
The death toll in the May 18 Egyptian bombing of a Tel Aviv bus station rose to fifty-one today when two more of the wounded died.
