On Zionism
“I came to the concept of Zionism only after moving to Berlin in 1914 at the age of 35; until then I had lived in a totally neutral environment. But since then it has become quite clear to me that in order to maintain or better still regain a worth-while existence, we Jews have a most urgent need to revive our feelings of community. I perceive only in Zionism an effort that can lead us closer to the is goal.”
