“A note was filed by the British with Mr. (e.g. Trygve) Lie requesting that member states do all in their power to discourage illegal immigration of Jews into the Holy Land.  This note was mysteriously withdrawn before any action could be taken by the Secretary General apparently as a result of pressure from the United States.”
