Israel’s Foreign Minister (e.g. Moshe Sharett) told the Ad Hoc Political Committee of the United Nations General Assembly:

We are as ever ready to enter into direct negotiations with any or all of our neighbors, either independently or under the auspices of the conciliation commission, with a view to the final settlement of all outstanding problems and the conclusion of a lasting peace.”
