May 8, 1950 Israel Offers Peace

 

Moshe SharettIsrael offered through the Palestine Conciliation Commission to negotiate outstanding questions with any or all of the Arab States.

Israel’s Foreign Minister told the Palestine Conciliation Commission:

“I WISH TO REAFFIRM CATEGORICALLY THAT THE GOVERNMENT OF ISRAEL IS WILLING TO NEGOTIATE WITH ANY STATE WHICH ANNOUNCES ITS READINESS TO CONCLUDE A FINAL SETTLEMENT OF ALL OUTSTANDING QUESTIONS WITH A VIEW TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PERMANENT PEACE.”
