Sheikh ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Hajj, the Rector of al-Azhar, the religious university, issued a declaration on the tenth anniversary of the establishment of Israel, in which he said:

“It is now our duty to renew the Jihad in order to restore our usurped country al-Ahram,
