This site is designed to serve as an introduction to the main historical periods and theoretical currents of Jewish Mysticism, Esotericism and Kabbalah, ranging from the Bible, through the Talmud, the Zohar, Isaac Luria, the Baal Shem Tov and beyond. The theoretical and historical descriptions have been broken into two different pieces and are designed to compliment one another as an introduction to the subject. The site also contains an extensive anthology of Kabbalistic literature broken down into thematic categories, a substantial bibliography, and a number of short video clips in which Prof. Elliot Wolfson of New York University gives short explanations of a number of important concepts. All of the information provided on this site has been academically vetted and is intended to provide a rigorous framework for engaged students and adult learners interested in learning about Jewish mysticism.
