Nebuchadnezzar commands the worship of a golden image while the three Hebrew youths are cast into a fiery furnace and protected by the angel Gabriel. This miniature appears at the beginning of Daniel in a Hebrew biblical commentary manuscript completed in the Würzburg region in 1232–33.
