April 25, 1936 Arab Higher Committee Called for Continuation of General Strike

Arab Higher Committee“On the 21st April, the leaders of the five Arab parties called a general strike. On the 25th they formed a Supreme Arab Committee, subsequently known as the Arab Higher Committee, under the presidency of the Mufti of Jerusalem. The committee decreed that the strike should continue until Jewish immigration was suspended.”
