Let all those to whom the present letter shall come know that we have agreed that we shall retain in our land none of the Jews belonging to our most dear kinsman and faithful vassal, Theobald, count of Troyes, unless we have the count’s consent, given by his own word.

None of our Jews may lend money to anyone from the territory of the said count or take any person or property from the count’s territory as security, unless the count has given his consent by his own word.

The same Count Theobald has agreed with us that he shall retain in his land none of our Jews unless we have given our consent by our own word. None of his Jews may lend money to anyone from our territory or take any person or property from our territory as security, unless we have given our consent by our own word.
