Muslim Coin

A simple declaration of faith is stamped on this coin from the late seventh century- “There is no God but Allah alone; he has no companion.” During the rule of Caliph ‘Abd al-Malik in the late-seventh and early-eighth centuries, similar phrases were inscribed on Muslim gold and silver coins, as well as on milestones and buildings.
