Mosaic of Justinian

The emperor Justinian (527-565 C.E.) was one of the greatest builders in Byzantine history. One of his most famous building projects was the Nea Church. He is depicted in a sixth-century mosaic from the basilica of San Vitale in Ravenna, Italy.
