Jerusalem Consul Named to Palestine Truce Body, NY Herald Tribune, Apr. 29, 1948.

Thomas C. WassonWASHINGTON, April 28 (AP).-Thomas C. Wasson, son of the Rev. Dr. Edmund A. Wasson, Protestant chaplain of the Newark, N. J. Police Department, was nominated today by President Truman to be American representative on the United Nations Truce Commission for Palestine. Mr. Wasson is consul general at Jerusalem.

The truce commission for Palestine was established April 23 by resolution of the Security Council of the U. N.

Mr. Wasson was born in Great Falls, Mont., on Feb. 8, 1896. He has a brother, Gordon R. Wasson, of New York City. The Rev. Dr. Wasson was rector of St. Stephen’s Church, Newark, for twenty-five years.
