Goliath Poetry

Oldest Philistine inscription found in Gath by an expedition led by Aren Maeir of Bar-Ilan University, scratched inscription on it of Goliath’s name, dating to 950 BCE.

According to Maeir, “What this means is that at the time there were people there named Goliath. It shows us that David and Goliath’s story reflects the cultural reality of the time.”
