Augustine of Hippo, also known as St. Augustine, was one of the Latin Church Fathers. He was a philosopher and theologian who argued that evil arose from the original sin committed by Adam and Eve and could be cured only through God’s grace. He had a profound influence on Western Christian thought, and greatly influenced the medieval worldview. Augustine was a prolific author. His works include- The City of God (De civitate Dei) Confessions (Confessiones) On the Trinity (De Trinitate) On Christian Doctrine (De doctrina Christiana)
