Israel Offers Peace
“The Government will work untiringly for the achievement of peaceful relations and co-operation between Israel and the Arab states.
In order to prevent the dangers inherent in the present unstable situations, I am prepared to meet with the Prime Minister of Egypt and with every other Arab ruler as soon as possible in order to achieve a mutual settlement, without prior conditions … we would also agree to a limited settlement providing for the ensurance of the full implementation of the Armistice Agreements, mutual elimination of all incidents and acts of hostility, boycott and blockade, the observance of the freedom of the seas and any additional arrangement agreeable to both sides …”
