President Woodrow Wilson: 1913-1921

“If ever I have the occasion to help in the restoration of the Jewish People to Palestine I shall surely do so.”

After his election President Wilson told Robert Morgenthau Ambassador to Turkey, “anything you can do to improve the lot of your coreligionists will reflect credit upon America” and “you may count on the full power of the Administration to back you up.”
