O’Dwyer and 8 Justices Urge Palestine Partition, NY Herald Tribune, Apr. 19, 1948.

Mayor William O'DwyerMayor William O’Dwyer and eight New York justices signed a petition yesterday calling upon Warren R. Austin, American delegate to the United Nations, to renew American support for partition in Palestine and to press immediately for effective U. N. measures to implement it.

The petition was prepared by the Lawyers Committee for Justice in Palestine, of which Bartley C. Crum, formerly a member of President Truman’s Special Committee of Inquiry on Palestine, is chairman. It will be presented to Mr. Austin next Thursday after other signatures have been obtained.

Those who signed with Mayor O’Dwyer yesterday were Justices James B. M. McNally, Felix C. Benvenga, Thomas C. Corcoran, Samuel Dickstein, Bernard Botein, Aaron J. Levy and Henry Clay Greenberg, all of Supreme Court, and Justice Saul Price, of Municipal Court.
