“The Arab exodus from the areas that became the Jewish State at the end of the War occurred over the space of 20 months, from the end of November 1947 to July 1949… The exodus of the rich from Jaffa and Haifa over December 1947 to March 1948 was vastly different from the mass urban flight of April and early March; indeed, the multi-layered flight from Jaffa was markedly different from that Haifa.”
