Before the 1967 Six Day War, the PLO’s Ahmed Shukairy claimed that the Arabs would throw the Jews into the sea. He later denies making this statement, but many Palestinian leaders impute it to him. He also reportedly says that if the Arabs defeat Israel, the surviving Jews will be allowed to return to their country of origin, “but my estimation is that none will survive.”
