May 28, 1967 The Six-Day War

Radio Cairo, an address by Marshal Gretchko of Russia at a farewell party in honour of the former Egyptian Minister of Defense Shams ed-Din Badran:

“The USSR, her armed forces, her people and government will stand by the Arabs and will continue to encourage and support them.  We are your faithful friends and we shall continue aiding you because this is the policy of the Soviet nation, its party and government.  On behalf of the Ministry of Defense and in the name of the Soviet nation we wish you success and victory.”
