May 13, 1948 Haganah Galilee Offensive – Operation Ben-Ami

Haganah“The Haganah offensive in Western Galilee, called Operation Ben-Ami, began on 13 May; Acre fell on 17-18 May. The town’s new militia commander, Yunis Naf’a (perhaps accompanied by another Haifa veteran, Amin ‘Izz a Din), fled with his troops by boat to Lebanon on 14 May.”
