March 19, 1948 Arab Claim: Jewish Palestine Will Lead to Communism

Faris El Khoury of Syria, dean of the Arab delegations to the U.N. and only regular Arab country delegate on the Security Council.

El Khouray said the establishment of a Jewish nation in Palestine would draw immigrants from Eastern Europe and Russia and with them would come Communism.

“Russia,” he said, “would have the means of obliging them to be Communistice by threats of mistreatment of hostages held in Russia.”
