July 1948 Zionist Activity Punishable by Execution in Iraq

A law was passed in Iraq making all Zionist activity punishable by execution, and with a minimum penalty of seven years imprisonment. By the summer of 1948 virtually all the wealthy Jews of Iraq had been place under arrest and their properties confiscated on the score of their being Zionists.
