December 14, 1947 Arab Murder, Mayhem, and Massacre – Lydda, Ramleh, Ben Shemen

The Arab Legion under British, Lieutenant General John Glubb moved into action long before the British left.  As early as December 14^th, 1947, it was responsible for an attack on a guard escorting a Jewish convoy of trucks on its way to Ben Shemen, a children’s agricultural village near Lod (then Lydda).  Fourteen Jews were killed and twelve wounded.
