The Arab Higher Committee
“We call upon you o Arab, to sacrifice yourself, to cease you work and commerce, to make do with merely a piece of bread . . . In order to safe guard you homeland so that Arab Palestine will not be lost and that you will not be banished from it as a refuge in the midst of destruction and disgrace.”
As a result, on April 19th, Arab mobs in Jaffa killed nine Jews and injured fifty-seven others.
