Iron Sword, 7th century BCE

Iron Sword.jpg

A rare find from Vered Jericho. Corroded but almost complete, a fragile, three-foot-long iron sword from seventh-century B.C. Though it was badly damaged, the sword’s bronze haft, pieces of the wooden grip and even the sword-blade’s tip survive intact, making it the only complete sword of its size and type from this period yet discovered in Israel.
