April 1, 2002 Sharon says Israel ‘is at war’ with terrorists

“Sharon says Israel ‘is at war.’  Haifa bomb kills 15; Arafat, confined to 2 rooms, still defiant.”

A 22-year-old Palestinian suicide bomber detonated explosives Sunday inside a packed restaurant in the Northern Israeli port city of Haifa, killing himself and 14 Israelis.

Shortly afterward, a suicide bomber set off explosives at a medical facility at the Jewish settlement of Efrat in the West Bank, wounding four Israelis.
