January 19, 1948 Training of the Arab Liberation Army

Training of the Arab Liberation Army“The training of the Arab liberation army is by European volunteers and that, in fact, one of the incursions was led by a German officer.”

“There is no doubt that well equipped volunteers are coming across the Lebanese frontier and bivouacking in Palestine in such inaccessible places as Wadi Kurn. They appear to be bound mainly to Jaffa and that such local Arabs trying to join have been turned away.

It is reported that European volunteers are being brought to Syria and the Lebanon as instructors and one of the parties who have crossed the frontier is stated to have been led by a German officer.”
